  • General

Results and Planned Actions

The euroSKIES Annual Survey 2024 has been completed, with only 5 out of 40 pilots participating. However, the results provide valuable insights into the preferences and interests of our pilots.

Simulator Usage and Preferred Aircraft

  • 80% of respondents use Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS), while the remaining pilots use FSX or P3D.
  • Currently, no participants reported using X-Plane 11/12.
  • The PMDG 737 and Fenix A320 series are the most commonly flown aircraft.

Evaluation of the euroSKIES Concept and Flight Schedules

  • The overall concept and existing schedules received highly positive feedback.
  • A slight preference for an increase in leisure destinations was noted.

Free Flights and Tours

  • Only 20% of respondents completely oppose free flights, while another 20% consider them essential.
  • 60% favor a reduction in free flights.
  • IVAO tour copies are only desired by 40%, with a preference for World Tours.
  • There is a strong interest in more group flights, focus events and tours.

The survey results indicate that the euroSKIES concept is well-received. However, the community is perceived as relatively inactive. We aim to address this and strengthen engagement among pilots.

Planned Actions Based on the Survey

  • Free flights will be transitioned into event-based formats.
  • New bases in Scandinavia and Spain: Implementation starting at the end of 2025.
  • Long-haul and cargo operations: A follow-up survey is planned for 2025.
  • Expansion of leisure destinations: Gradual introduction of new routes.
  • No immediate regional concept, but a potential regional fleet may be introduced under a new AOC and later expanded in Germany.

We appreciate all participants of the survey and look forward to shaping the future of euroSKIES together!
