1 General Statement

1.1

The euroSKIES virtual airline operates a central online documentation system in which all valid rules, procedures, and policies are published.

The euroSKIES Rules and Regulations are an integral part of this online documentation and constitute the binding foundation for virtual flight operations.

Changes and updates are continuously maintained within the online documentation system. No separate revision or change log is maintained.

Further information as well as the current valid version of all regulations are available at any time in the euroSKIES documentation system.

1.2

For reasons of readability, the masculine form (“he”) is used for personal designations within our documentation.

This does not represent any gender-based judgment or norm, but serves solely linguistic simplification and the avoidance of unnecessary repetition.
euroSKIES expressly welcomes all persons regardless of gender, identity, or origin and does not tolerate any form of discrimination.

If our choice of wording is perceived as unclear or inappropriate in individual cases, we kindly ask for corresponding feedback.

2 Purpose

2.1

The purpose of euroSKIES is the operation of a free and non-profit virtual airline via the internet.

euroSKIES is an educational and entertainment organization that is open to all interested persons free of charge.
Everyone is welcome provided they comply with the applicable rules and regulations, the instructions of the Staff, and the contents of the euroSKIES online documentation.

2.2

euroSKIES is a purely virtual airline intended exclusively for flight simulation and has no connection, affiliation, or relationship with any real-world airline.

3 Terms of use

3.1 General

The use of euroSKIES is free of charge.

The use of euroSKIES requires users to accept and comply with the applicable rules and regulations, terms of use, and privacy policy. These are published on the website and within the online documentation and are accessible to all users at any time.

euroSKIES reserves the right to exclude users without prior notice if they violate applicable rules or regulations, act abusively, or endanger euroSKIES networks, systems, or documentation. This applies in particular to unauthorized access, manipulation, distribution, or modification of content or systems.

The Staff of euroSKIES is authorized to issue instructions to users insofar as this is necessary for the operation of the virtual airline.

There is no legal entitlement to membership in euroSKIES.

euroSKIES reserves the right to contact users in connection with their membership.

By registering, you consent to receive information from and about euroSKIES (e.g. organizational notices, news, or relevant announcements) via email.
Receipt of such information can be discontinued at any time via members@euroskies.net or through the provided unsubscribe options.

3.2 Account

A one-time registration with euroSKIES using a complete and authentic name entitles the user to use the platform, provided the user is at least 16 years old at the time of registration.

Users between the ages of 14 and 16 may register an account if consent from their legal guardians is provided. euroSKIES reserves the right to request appropriate proof during or after the registration process.

By registering, the provision of a valid email address and—if required—the confirmation of legal guardian consent are considered prerequisites for using euroSKIES.

euroSKIES reserves the right to review user accounts at any time if there are doubts regarding the user’s identity or proper use of the account.

Users are required to keep their account data up to date.

The registration or use of multiple accounts by the same person is prohibited.

3.3 Activity

Active user accounts may be deactivated, suspended, or removed in the event of rule violations.

An active user is defined as any member who fulfills the required level of activity within the specified time period.

The calendar year is divided into four quarters:

  • January to March (deadline: March 31)
  • April to June (deadline: June 30)
  • July to September (deadline: September 30)
  • October to December (deadline: December 31)

Within each quarter, every pilot must complete at least one flight from the official flight schedule or as part of an approved event to be considered active.

The quarter from July to September is exempt from this activity requirement.

Flights are only recognized for activity purposes if they are conducted according to the official flight schedule or within approved events.
Independent or free flights outside these parameters do not contribute to maintaining account activity.

Inactive user accounts will be removed after six months without activity, effective on June 30 or December 31.

After initial registration, a user account will also be removed after six months (June 30 or December 31) if no activity has been recorded.

Reactivation or an extension of the removal deadline may be requested at any time via members@euroskies.net.

4.2 General Rules

The permitted languages for membership and virtual flight operations at euroSKIES are German and English.

Users should possess basic proficiency in the English language, as some systems, software solutions, or content are available exclusively in English.

All users are required to behave in a rule-compliant, respectful, and cooperative manner.

It is prohibited to distribute or make accessible copyrighted content (e.g. music, films, images without appropriate rights) as well as pornographic, racist, political, discriminatory, sexually suggestive, or otherwise illegal content.
Violations will be sanctioned accordingly and may, depending on severity, be reported to the appropriate authorities for criminal prosecution.
In cases involving minors as victims or suspects, legal guardians will be informed.

Friendly, respectful, and cooperative behavior is expected. euroSKIES does not tolerate insults, harassment, or bullying. Such behavior may be sanctioned and, where applicable, pursued under civil law.

With increasing rank, users assume a growing role as points of contact and role models for other members. A supportive and helpful attitude within the community is expected.

New users, users seeking new ratings or rankings, or users requiring assistance with the documentation or systems may receive support from other members or the Staff.
Coordination can be requested via email at members@euroskies.net or through the official euroSKIES Discord server.

Membership in other virtual airlines is generally permitted. However, recording the same flight simultaneously for multiple virtual airlines is prohibited.

Only software approved or authorized by euroSKIES may be used.

4.3 Flight Simulation Rules

All flights must be conducted in real-time simulation mode (1× simulation rate).
The simulator pause mode is not permitted during online flights.

Users should possess basic knowledge of virtual aviation and sufficient knowledge of the aircraft type flown and its procedures required for the planned flight.

Simulation of emergencies such as emergency (Squawk 7700) and communication loss (Squawk 7600) is permitted.
However, euroSKIES does not provide binding procedures for such situations. Implementation is the sole responsibility of the user.

Simulation of unlawful interference, particularly hijacking (Squawk 7500), is prohibited and will be sanctioned.

Pilot reports (PIREPs) must be submitted within 24 hours after completion of the flight.
Validation may take up to 7 days. Late submissions may be excluded from evaluation and deleted.

Pilot reports may include additional documentation as defined in the online documentation system. These are voluntary supplements only.
Examples include reporting a resolution advisory (RA) or documenting de-icing procedures.

The online documentation system provided by euroSKIES is intended exclusively for flight simulation.
For real-world aviation, only the valid documents of the respective ATO, operator, AIP, and aircraft manufacturer shall be used.

Flights may only be conducted as euroSKIES flights using the designated flight number system.

Awards, rankings, and ratings may be granted or revoked.

Certain operational areas may require specific rankings or ratings, such as long-haul operations or airport qualifications (e.g. CAT C airports).
A complete overview and acquisition requirements are published in the documentation system.

If required rankings or ratings are not held, flights may be deleted retroactively.

These requirements do not apply to free flights conducted independently of flight plan, tour, or event systems.

Flights from the official flight schedule should, where possible, be conducted according to the briefing.
Published times are recommendations only; flights may be conducted flexibly.

Flights may be operated using other aircraft from the euroSKIES fleet unless explicitly prohibited by tour rules, event rules, or documentation.

Flights using aircraft not belonging to the euroSKIES fleet are prohibited.

If an official euroSKIES livery is available for an aircraft, its use is mandatory.

Repositioning or moving the aircraft after engine start is prohibited.

The disclosure of internal information to third parties without written permission from Management is prohibited.

Exceptions may be requested on a one-time or temporary basis via operations@euroskies.net.

Non-compliance with these simulation rules may result in flight deletion and, in serious or repeated cases, exclusion from euroSKIES.

4.4 Staff and Management Rules

For users active in Staff or Management roles, the additional “Rules and Regulations for Staff and Management” published in the documentation system apply.

Users wishing to engage in the Staff must be at least 18 years old.
